Cumbernauld library assistant wins £270,000

A Cumbernauld library assistant has won £270,000 on the National Bingo Game’s Platinum Jackpot.

The 36-year-old lucky lady, who wishes to remain anonymous, was at the Gala Club in North Carbrain Road, Cumbernauld when she hit the jackpot.

She said: “I was really shaken up when they told me how much I had won and I am still in shock.

“I got no sleep at all that night. It is an amazing amount of money, particularly as my previous biggest win was £200.”

Her bingo career began at the tender age of 18, when her mum starting taking her to the local bingo hall two or three times per week.

The National Bingo Game’s Platinum Jackpot can be won if the winner calls house on the number 90 and a play-off is held for the prize every Sunday to ensure it is won regularly.

Teifi Valley care home has been encouraging its residents to play bingo and says that the scheme has “gone down really well”.
