A bingo player who won big this month is planning to spend some of her winnings going on a holiday in Jamaica.

The lucky lady from Harlow, who wishes to remain anonymous, scooped over 63,000 playing bingo, just six days before her 73rd birthday.

She told the National Bingo: "I have been playing bingo for well over 35 years and 250 was my previous biggest win…My husband and I are real regulars at the Mecca, playing four or five times a week."

No doubt, the lady's six sons, one daughter and five grandchildren will be please to hear that she has won.

The bingo addict admits that financially her family has "always struggled" and as a way to make money to pay for Christmas presents she used to go potato picking.

She concluded that the winnings will be a "real luxury" to the family.

According to the National Bingo, eight per cent of the UK's population play bingo, which equates to over three million people taking part in the game at least twice per week.
