Bingo mum wins £187,000

A 43-year-old bingo player from Cusworth has won a whopping £187,000 this week, while her husband was watching football.

The lucky lady, who wishes to remain anonymous, was playing at the Gala Club in Doncaster when she won the platinum jackpot.

She said: “I just can’t take it in and I have to keep pinching myself…It’s a nice feeling but a bit like sickness in my stomach!”

The lady added that her decision to join the bingo club five years ago had only been so that she could use the toilet facilities when passing, after Matalan closed theirs.

Since then, she has taken to playing most Tuesdays and occasionally on a Thursday.

The Yorkshire woman wasn’t the only one to win this week, as a 64-year-old part-time admin assistant from Newton Poppleford in the south-west of England also hit the jackpot.

At the Mecca Club in North Street, Exeter the fluky female picked up a cool total of £639,725.
