tombola launches TV campaign on 26th August

tombola are launching a national TV campaign to support their own site tombola.co.uk after two and half years operating the biggest online bingo games in the UK.

From 26th August the most popular bingo games on the internet developed by tombola will only be on www.tombola.co.uk and they won’t be on sunbingo.co.uk or notwbingo.co.uk anymore.

tombola’s bingo 90, bingo 80, bingo 75, Cinco, Hamster Race and Battleships will be found exclusively on tombola.co.uk.

Players will also find all the chat rooms that were on Sun Bingo and NOTW Bingo, red, pink, blue, stars, peach, capri, casablanca etc and all the same chat moderators, Thunder, Corona, Snickers, Yorkie, Pacer, Ruffles and the rest, (more than 60 CMs in total).

Anyone who has played on sunbingo.co.uk or notwbingo.co.uk since they first launched in January 2006 up to 25th August, will be able to log in to tombola.co.uk. They will be able to play their favourite games, using their same username and password used on either site.

Also if they have funds in their account after midnight on the night of 25th August, they will find these funds at tombola.co.uk, so they can keep playing without skipping a beat.

tombola usually offers to match new players first deposit up to £25 and to celebrate the launch of their TV campaign they are extending this to existing players as well. All existing tombola players including those who played on sunbingo.co.uk and notwbingo.co.uk will have their first deposit matched up to £25 after midnight on 25th August with their Reload Bonus.

tombola say they have lots of promotions lined up for launch week and a few surprises. Details will be released this weekend.

MP outfoxed as bingo ad escapes ban

Posted on August 22nd, 2008 - Penny @ 10:11 am

The Liberal Democrat culture spokesman, Don Foster, has failed in a bid to get an ad campaign for gambling brand Foxy Bingo banned after making a complaint to the advertising watchdog.

The ad campaign, which ran online and on TV, pushed an offer of “£10 free” with “no deposit required” as an enticement to sign up to the online bingo operator.

Foxy Bingo ad: offered ‘£10 free’

Foxy Bingo TV Advert

Foxy Bingo’s TV ad, which featured the character Foxy singing to Sister Sledge’s disco classic We Are Family, stated that the offer was for over-18s and that terms and conditions applied.

Foster lodged a complaint with the Advertising Standards Authority arguing that the use of the word “free” was misleading.

He said that the terms and conditions indicated that winnings resulting from bingo cards purchased with the “free” £10 were paid out only if there was a minimum of £30 in a Foxy Bingo account set up with a credit or debit card.

Foxy Bingo’s parent company, Cashcade, said that the promotion did allow people to play with £10 completely for free with no obligations such as setting up an account.

However, to prevent abuse of the offer - meaning people simply withdrawing the free £10 instead of playing - players did have to have a minimum of £30 in an account and make a deposit in order to cash in on winnings.

Advertising clearance body Clearcast said that the free play claim did not omit any “significant conditions” in the ad.

The ASA concluded that the use of “free” was “appropriate for all customers in both ads and was unlikely to mislead in order for players to withdraw wins completely for free”.

However, the ASA did rule against another gambling ad campaign, for Wink Bingo, which showed a midwife celebrating while at work at a maternity unit.

The ASA banned the ad, concluding that it condoned gambling in the workplace and suggested that it took priority over professional commitments.

Giant bingo balls take over Liverpool

Giant bingo balls run amok in European Capital of Culture

Ladbrokesbingo.com takes to the streets of Liverpool to film a new TV ad campaign

The people of Liverpool are in for a shock this week as Ladbrokesbingo.com, one of the UK’s leading online bingo sites, has taken over this city to record a fun and fast-paced television ad campaign that celebrates the nation’s love of bingo.  On location in the European Capital of Culture’s red terraced streets and taking in some of the city’s most iconic landmarks, the exhilarating shoot features a number of 13-foot giant spheres rolling around the city in an enormous invasion of bingo balls.

The advert, devised by advertising agency M&C Saatchi and produced by cutting-edge production company Serious Pictures for Ladbrokesbingo.com, will continue to close off busy areas of Liverpool until Thursday.  Directed by Ben Quinn and with a total campaign budget of over three million pounds, the action-packed spectacle will feature over 180 extras including two ‘fat ladies’, two ‘little ducks’ and a real-life ‘legs eleven’.

Promising to represent the fun that can be had playing the nation’s favourite game, the advert will feature the giant multi-coloured bingo balls hurtling past a selection of Liverpool’s finest features including The Liver Building, The Steble Fountain, St George’s Hall and Museum Steps, as well as terraced streets of Badminton Avenue and the quaint Lark Lane when it airs in September.

Charlie Goodenough, Acquisition Marketing Manager at Ladbrokesbingo.com says, “This is a really exciting project for Ladbrokes Bingo and we are delighted to be bringing bingo on such a big scale to the streets of Liverpool.  We wanted to represent the fun, exciting nature of the game and we’re sure the giant bingo balls will make an impact on both Merseyside and across the country.”

The advert will air from mid to late September and customers should visit Ladbrokesbingo.com to experience the thrill of the game and for more information.

Winners Stories from Jackpotjoy!

Posted on August 21st, 2008 - Penny @ 1:27 pm

Nigel B Struck Bingo Gold
£25,998 in Bingo Gold

Nigel B struck Bingo Gold when he won £25,998. “I can’t believe it, it was my first time playing and I won the jackpot from the first deposit I made!”

The lucky lad from Tamworth in Staffs isn’t sure what he’s going to spend the money on yet, but he’s going to be taking a well deserved holiday for starters.

Proof that luck can strike at any time.

Patricia Lucky
£10,442 on Diamond Bonanza

Patricia L was playing the mini game when she won £10,442 on Jackpotjoy’s Diamond Bonanza!

“When I won I was screaming so loud my daughter came rushing downstairs, she thought I was dying! She was stunned. We both are.”

She’s decided to turn her living room into the local multiplex with the winnings. “I’ve bought a 40 inch, HD ready TV so far. It still hasn’t sunk in yet. I always thought winning was something that happened to other people, but, boy does it feel good to be a winner!”

Amanda C Found Time to Shine
£36,327 on Bingo Gold

Although we all know it’s not just gold that glitters, it’s fair to say that £36,327 won in Jackpotjoy Bingo Gold room is going to leave anyone shining.

“I’m only just starting to get my head around it,” says lucky winner Amanda C.

“I was playing alone when all of a sudden I saw something going on in chat. I thought I’d won a couple of hundred pounds but then I nearly passed out.”

The big jackpot is being invested in a new house, so it’ll really make a difference.
Helen H Found a New Best Friend
£18,952 on Diamond Bonanza

Helen H found Diamond Bonanza to be her best friend, when it paid out a juicy £18,952 to her recently.

“I was very excited,” she told us. “I can remember playing and seeing the five diamonds came up. I couldn’t believe it. It was a magic moment!”

With more than £2,000,000 given away every day, Jackpotjoy’s players are never too far from another magic moment!

Graham T Beat the Banker!
£152,657 on Deal of No Deal

Graham T managed to get one over the banker when he took £152,657 from Deal or No Deal progressive jackpot.

“I’m still a bit shocked. It’s the kind of thing you think happens to everyone else. I think the best word for it is disbelief.”

It didn’t take long for him to take it on board and share the news though. “I let my wife know first, and she had to go to work, stunned and dazed.”

Graham’s won a genuinely life changing sum of money, and he’s not afraid of using it!

“First plan of action is to reduce the mortgage, that’ll make a real difference. I think we’ll spend some of it, give some away and save the rest. My favourite game was Double Bubble but not anymore. Nothing can beat Deal or No Deal now.”

Not surprising when you’re getting deals like that …

Ian S Will See A Sunny Christmas
£4,208 on Bingo 100

Ian S woke the family up when he called Bingo 100 and won £4,208.

“It was brilliant! My daughter and grandchild had just gone to sleep, but they came rushing down when they heard me yelp.”

He’s taking his family away with the winnings.

“I’ve booked a holiday to Tenerife in the build up to Christmas. Everyone’s got little treats off me.”

What would you treat yourself to with a big win at Bingo?
