The town of Whitehaven in north-west England was the setting for a huge bingo win this week.

Despite the lucky lady wishing to remain anonymous, it was revealed that the player has already won a five-figure prize this year.

She can now add more than 20,000 to that total, after she emerged triumphant from an Opera Bingo Hall, reports the News and Star.

According to the newspaper, the successful woman was told by a fortune teller that she was going to come into some money.

The Romany gypsy also revealed that numbers would play a part in her windfall.

"I wasn't sure whether [the fortune teller] meant I would be lucky at bingo or on the lottery, but the family has certainly been very lucky at bingo this year," said the Opera Bingo winner.

Gala Bingo, Mecca Bingo and Littlewoods Bingo are three of the many internet sites offering a selection of games in the build-up to Christmas for those looking to replicate the success of the north-west numbers game enthusiast.
