A recent survey conducted by Mecca Bingo saw a report being released at their online bingo site which stated that people living in Northern Towns were luckier than those living in Southern towns, Harrogate being the luckiest. Not too far away in Huddersfield, they also think they have found the luckiest bingo player in Britain and guess what, this is a man!
Nicknamed ‘Bingo Brian’, Brian Parker has registered a pretty amazing 129 wins in this year alone, and he is looking forward with great glee to another ten years of lucky bingo play as we enter the next decade. As yet he does not play online bingo, but I would say online bingo players beware in case he takes a liking to the game.
This 74 year old man favours the Huddersfield Mecca Bingo at Folly Hall and during the course of the year has won between £3,000 to £4,000 to supplement his pension. His bingo playing is a six days a week pursuit and he has actually revealed the secret of his success. Much like many other bingo players he practices certain little rituals to make sure his luck remains steady and always sits in the same seat as well as parks his car in the same parking space. He also says he believes he was born lucky as even when he goes on holiday and plays he gets lucky. Experts on luck say that if you believe you are lucky you will be, so he has the right attitude.
Brian has also been playing bingo for between 25 and 30 years, and really enjoys the computerized version of the game. His wife doesn’t enjoy playing, she likes to read a good book or watch telly, she also compares playing bingo to being as boring as watching paint dry. But he says he doesn’t drink and he has to spend his money on something, it also gets him out from under her feet.
P.S. Madge, his wife, always gets half of his winnings!
