Mecca Bingo Launches New Mobile Bingo Game

by Penny Walker

Mobile bingo, slots and in particular sports betting are becoming immensely popular gambling activities in the UK. In fact these games are so popularly played that there are software platforms available for normal mobile hand sets, iPhones and the Android. Mecca has had these games available for a while and now the newest in their mobile Android games line-up is Britains Got Talent Bingo. This game has been available at the site for couple of years since Mecca became the sponsor of this popular TV talent show.

The new Britain's Got Talent Bingo platform was built for Mecca by mobile gaming specialist Mkodo, and is available through free download for the Android operating system (iPhone is already available). It allows users access to synchronized play across both Mecca Bingo and Britain's Got Talent platforms and they only need use one login. The same functionality and winning lines apply and there is a chat application, just like when playing BGT online.

Notwithstanding all the excitement over the new Android BGT app, there is a lot of excitement going on in the boardrooms of Rank - the Mecca Bingo parent company. Malaysian billionaire Quek Leng Chan seems to have inadvertently taken over this British gambling giant. By the 1st July we should know if the Guoco Group is the new owner of this company in its entirety, we believe he has bought the bingo casino group for the bargain price of 586 million and it was not even for sale at the time.

Quickly recapped Guoco owned 29.3% of Rank shares; they bought Genting's shares of 11.6%; for a total shareholding of "41 time for fun". The group has been having some fun since then, because Guoco were compelled by law to make an offer to other shareholders and even though the offer was grossly undervalued, shareholders have been accepting. Anyway it all comes to a head tomorrow let's see what happens then.
