If the British legal system was trying to convince rocker Pete Doherty that life is not a game, then handing him a get out of jail free card may not have been the best way to go.
The old flame of Kate Moss has been told he will be free to leave jail on Tuesday after serving just 29 days of his 14-week sentence.
During his stint in prison, which he earned for failing to take a drugs test during a suspended sentence, there have been claims that the former Libertines singer has taken heroin.
A friend close to the singer has revealed what Pete will do upon release.
The friend said: "He's planning to go straight to play a gig double dash and then get smashed. He wants no business appointments for three days double dash so he can really go for it."
However, one person who may be pleased to hear that Doherty has been released is Glastonbury organiser Michael Eavis, who has booked his band Babyshambles to appear at the festival.
Glastonbury needs all the popular acts it can get this year, after tickets failed to sell out as quickly as other festivals, causing speculation that Eavis had booked the wrong type of headliner.
Hip-hop star Jay-Z is set to lead the line-up, which has angered some who say this type of music is not what Glastonbury is traditionally known for.
