A lucky lottery player has come forward to claim a £35 million prize in the EuroMillions draw, the biggest payout in the history of the game in the UK.
The owner of the ticket, living in an undisclosed location somewhere in the UK, came forward to collect their prize after the draw on Friday night, Camelot revealed.
It is believed that the delay in the winner coming forward was due to him being completely oblivious to the fact that his lucky numbers had come up.
The winner's lucky numbers were: 23, 40, 42, 43, 49, while the Lucky Star numbers were two and six.
The EuroMillions game is played in nine countries including the UK, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, Ireland, Portugal, France, Luxembourg and Spain.
In July 2005, Dolores McNamara from Limerick, won £77 million on the EuroMillions draw.
