By Sarah Smithon Wednesday, 2 Jan 2008 After more than 50 dedicated years of playing bingo a man in Merthyr has won a whopping £90,000 at his local club.
The fluky fellow, who wishes to remain anonymous, got lucky at the Castle Club in Plymouth Street after completing full house in 42 numbers while playing the National Bingo Game.
He said: "I couldn't believe it when they told me how much it was…The reaction in the club was marvellous with everyone clapping and cheering me.
"I just couldn't stop shaking and I still shake when I think about it now."
The man, together with his wife, has two children, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren who will no doubt be looking forward to a luxurious 2008 following his win.
Although the 76-year-old winner is not yet sure what to spend the cash on, he says that he will be taking his wife away on a holiday.
