By Sarah Smithon Tuesday, 22 Apr 2008 A bingo player who won £80,000 this month has described how she was jumping for joy after hearing the news.
The lucky lady, who wishes to remain anonymous, scooped the National Bingo prize of £78,740, as well as the zone jackpot of £3,178 and a further £200 for the house prize, after completing a full house in 42 calls.
She told the National Bingo: "I jumped for joy when I found out how much I'd won…I was so excited.
"My husband and I couldn't believe it; we were both in shock."
The 40-year-old woman is married with three children and says she now intends to use some of the money to jet her family off on a luxury holiday in the US and Jamaica.
According to the National Bingo, around 500 clubs link up to play the National Game every day, except at Christmas.
Furthermore, over three million people in the UK play bingo regularly, which is around ten per cent of all women and five per cent of all men.
