Troubled songstress Amy Winehouse has spoken out to defend her new husband after they were photographed looking scratched and bloody on Wednesday night.
Photos showed the singer wearing blood-soaked ballet pumps, bandages on her arms and her trademark thick black eyeliners smeared down her face.
The 23-year-old star, who has just left rehab after reported drug and alcohol problems, had apparently been in a fight with hubbie Blake Fielder-Civil at a top London hotel.
The Mobo-nominated jazz sensation defended Blake this morning on the pages of a celebrity gossip website after reports suggested that he had lashed out at her.
She'd apparently texted celebrity blogger Perez Hilton to explain that he had tried to stop her from harming herself and taking drugs.
"Blake is the best man in the world. We would never ever harm each other," she wrote.
"I was cutting myself after he found me in our room about to do drugs with a call girl and rightly said I wasn't good enough for him. I lost it and he saved my life.
"I'll be alright. I need to fight my man's corner for him though. For the last time he did not and never has hurt me.
She added: "He deserves the truth, he is an amazing man who saved my life again and got cut badly for his troubles."
