Running from January 21st to February 19th, the star sign is associated with the planet Uranus which gives Aquarians erraticism.
Aquarians are often creative, independent, powerful and determined - and they are loyal to the end, so they are good friends to have around. However, because they cannot tolerate disloyalty they can be mortal enemies too. In terms of relationships, this quality means that they are highly unlikely to cheat on their loved one.
They are also supposed to be contrary, unpredictable and unemotional, although their sense of invention means that they make good artists and musicians, and get on well in the technical professions.
In terms of mythological figures, Aquarius is associated with Odysseus, the Greek warrior who embarked on an epic voyage back to his home in Ithaca after the Trojan War.
Real-life Aquarians include venerable Victorian novelist Charles Dickens, Simpsons creator Matt Groening, musicians ranging from Mozart to Dr Dre, and leaders including Abraham Lincoln.
