By Sarah Smithon Friday, 29 Feb 2008 The Arctic Monkeys were crowned kings of the NME jungle in London last night.
At the O2 Arena the Sheffield quartet picked up the award for best British band, best track for 'Fluorescent Adolescent' and best video for 'Teddy Picker', marking them out as the clear winners of the night.
Other winners at the NME Music Awards included Amy Winehouse who was ironically named worse dressed she has just announced plans to launch her own clothing line and Pete Doherty who worryingly scooped the hero of the year prize.
The Klaxons picked up the award for best album while straight-talking newcomer Kate Nash showed the foundations for her career are firmly set by winning the best solo artist award.
Earlier this month the Arctic Monkeys won the award for best album and best band at the Brit Awards.
However, the Yorkshire lads were less than composed upon receiving the awards and had to be ushered off-stage after several unsuccessful attempts at delivering a coherent acceptance speech.
