The lucky 64-year-old, who wishes to remain anonymous, was playing at her local Gala club when she won the jackpot playing the Platinum Jackpot game.
Living proof that lightening can strike twice, the club is where the lady found her partner three years ago after being widowed nine years previously.
She told the National Bingo: "I am in total shock. I am still trying to get my head round it and it just won't sink in. I have never been a lucky person, only winning £10 or £20 in the past. Nothing big ever."
The winning woman has been playing weekly at the club in Basildon since 1994.
After discovering how much she had won she asked her partner to come to the bingo hall, where a member of staff broke the news "gently" as he has a heart condition.
The National Bingo reports that many celebrities, such as Catherine Zeta-Jones and Robbie Williams, are fans of bingo.
Some players of the game choose to gamble online at sites such as Wink Bingo and Foxy Bingo rather than in bingo halls.
