By Becky Turner on Wednesday, 4 Apr 2007 Over £200,000 of prize money has been scooped by an unnamed bingo player from Hatfield.
The Welwyn and Hatfield Times reports that the mystery 52-year-old was playing the national game in a Mecca hall in Harlow with her husband when she won the £200,000 jackpot, a £1,505 regional prize and a £195 house prize.
She said that she plans to spend the money on her children and put some of the winnings towards her retirement.
"I'll be paying for my youngest daughter to go on a cruise for her 21st birthday and I'll be giving some money to my oldest daughter. My husband and I are also hoping to retire at 60, so the money will be very useful then," she commented.
Last Wednesday, another mystery woman won more than £100,000 in prizes at a Mecca bingo club in Bolton, reports the Bolton News.
