By Sarah Smithon Thursday, 10 Aug 2006 The return of four evicted Big Brother housemates has caused outrage among fans who feel their votes have been wasted, but it has caused confusion inside the house as Channel 4 had hoped.
Four colourful characters - Lea, Mikey, Nikki and Grace - had previously been evicted from the house but crafty producers organised another public vote to put four of them back in.
The surviving housemates watched on the screen as the foursome faced the camera in the diary room and were confused as to why they were put into the 'house next door'.
"They know the public don't know that we don't know that they don't know that," housemate Richard mused. "But what do you think? If we know that they don't know that we know."
The decision by Channel 4 to reintroduce previously evicted housemates has prompted around 2,500 viewers to complain and may mean the show has to refund around £3 million to disappointed fans.
