Paul Ian Smith, aged 49, hit the jackpot at the Mecca Bingo club in Clough Road in Hull where he was playing with his girlfriend, Tracy.
He told the National Bingo that he could not believe it when he found out how much he had won.
"We only started going for something to do in the evenings. I was in real shock and Tracy burst into tears," said Paul.
He added: ""Everyone in the club was really nice and we had a bit of a hangover the next day from celebrating."
Paul says that he is going to spend some of the money on a new car as he currently makes his way around in a 16-seater coach.
Earlier this week it was announced that classic gameshow The Price is Right is returning in a bingo format online.
