The 72-year-old Scunthorpe woman bagged herself £17,500 playing bingo at the Gala Bingo club in the Madford Retail Park on Brigg Road in the Lincolnshire town.
Her luck came in on Sunday December 2nd playing the aptly-named National Bingo Afternoon Delight game.
She told the National Bingo that her and her husband, who she plays with once a week, were both very shocked when they realised the extent of their win.
The couple have four children as well as four grandchildren and have not yet decided what to do with their winnings.
Over three million people play bingo regularly in the UK, with the most common reasons for playing being because it is fun and inexpensive and for the chance to socialise.
A number of celebs such as Catherine Zeta Jones, Robbie Williams and Denise Van Outen have also confessed that they are fans of the game.
However over recent years more and more bingo players are opting to play online as it is more convenient for the lifestyles of many women.
