By Sarah Smithon Friday, 24 Nov 2006 The winner of the north-west heat of the National Bingo Caller of the Year competition believes he's in with a chance to win the overall prize.
Chris McHenry, 38, who calls the numbers at the Buckingham Bingo Club in Middleton, is one of six competitors aiming to be crowned as the best bingo caller in the country and to win the chance to call the numbers in Las Vegas, This Is Lancashire reports.
Commenting on his chances in the competition, Chris told the newspaper that he's been given odds of 7/2 to win, making him the third favourite.
"I really do believe I have what it takes - I've got a fun-loving personality, a bucketful of charisma, a pinch of the X-factor and plenty of dedication," he said.
This year's contest, organised by National Bingo Game, is to be hosted by Esther Rantzen at the Gala Bingo in Surrey Quays on November 26th.
The event will open with a cabaret show and followed by bingo games before the competition gets underway.
