By Sarah Smithon Wednesday, 19 Sep 2007 A bingo caller from Ipswich is hoping that it will be him who gets lucky for once, as he competes in National Bingos caller of the year competition.
Sheffen Allibhi is through to the midlands regional final and is hoping to reach the annual final at Londons Wood Green Mecca club.
Speaking to the Evening Star Newspaper, he says of his success: No matter what age group people are in, I can crack a joke and have a great time with everyone in the audience; its all about providing pure entertainment for everyone.
Mr Allibhi added that winning the award would mean the world to him. It would also see him jet off on a trip to Las Vegas and bag an extra £500 to boot.
Previous winner of the Scottish caller of the year award, Graeme Garioch received his trophy at a ceremony in the county bingo hall in Coatbridge, Lanarkshire earlier this year.
But his luck didnt stop there. Graeme went on to win £101,000 in May 2007 on TV game-show Deal or No Deal, proving there is just no end to some peoples luck.
