By Penny Walker on Wednesday, 4 Oct 2006 The game of bingo was given the royal seal of approval when Prince William spent a night at a Mecca Club in Reading with ten friends.
According to The Sun, the thin-haired second-in-line to the throne became a member of the club and bought a book of tickets for £5. Apparently he did not win any games.
"I can confirm that he was there, but as he was on private business I cannot discuss it any further," said a spokesman for Clarence House.
Wills spent about an hour at the club and also found time to sign the back of another player's bingo card. "He was very friendly, talking and joking with people," a source told the newspaper.
He also initially told someone that he was not Prince William but actually a lookalike, but had to own up when his friends began laughing.
