By Sarah Smithon Wednesday, 27 Jun 2007 A 73-year-old pensioner has been helped with her post-operation recovery with a massive bingo jackpot win.
The unnamed winner scooped a fantastic £20,000 prize at her local bingo hall, the Gala Club in Kettering.
It could not have come at a better time for the woman who had been feeling pretty low following a knee operation in April which had forced her to be less active than usual.
She was a regular at a local yoga class and line dancing group prior to the op but all of that had to stop once she had gone under the knife.
However, her mood was soon lifted when she heard her numbers come up during an afternoon bingo game.
"I was so embarrassed when I was told I had won as everybody was looking at me," she revealed. "“However, the win is lovely."
The woman says that she plans to spend the cash on a Greek holiday with her sister, treating her granddaughter and investing the rest.
