By Sarah Smithon Thursday, 29 Nov 2007 An east London bingo player has struck gold and scooped herself half a million pounds, according to new reports.
The lucky lady from Newham became the first Gold Jackpot winner on the new Big N National Game, at the Gala Bingo club in East Ham.
However her win was a double whammy as she had already called house in 41 numbers on the National Bingo Game, winning the top prize of £100,000.
The further £466,525 came from the newly launched game a few moments later.
Other players in the crowd "went wild with delight" clapping and cheering when the general manager Stuart Green announced her "amazing" total win of £566,525.
The 42-year-old winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, reportedly just sat "stunned" unable to take in her good fortune.
She had only joined the Barking Road Club in June 2006 and has been playing there ever since.
There have already been six winners of the silver jackpot this year while the platinum prize is yet to find a winner and currently stands at one million pounds.
