By Paula Wilcock on Friday, 23 Mar 2007 Members of Bingobase partner site Bingo Mania helped raise £1,508 for this year's Comic Relief appeal.
According to the site, the money came from visitors making donations and funds set aside from the site's full house games.
Following the campaign, Bingo Mania told its "generous" players to give themselves "a large, loud pat on the nose from us".
Of the money collected for the appeal, 60 per cent will go towards impoverished people in Africa, with the remaining 40 per cent set aside for good causes in the UK.
X Factor star Sharon Osbourne also gave a helping hand to Gala Bingo's Comic Relief fundraising by calling the numbers at one of its clubs.
Before being beamed live by satellite to the company's other bingo halls nationwide, Sharon said that she was "delighted" to be involved in the project, stating that she was both a supporter of Comic Relief and fan of bingo.
