By Sarah Smithon Wednesday, 24 Oct 2007 A dedicated bingo player has struck gold winning a staggering £50,000.
The 28-year-old from Runcorn, who has been playing bingo for six-years, has finally seen her dreams come true as she scooped the big money.
Winning the bingo was well-timed for the lucky lady, who wishes to remain anonymous, as she is looking to buy a bigger house with her partner.
Her luck came in whilst she was playing the National Bingo Game with her partner's mum at the Gala Bingo club at the Windmill Centre in Widnes.
Calling full house in just 43 balls, the winner said her biggest win previous to this was £2,400.
She told National Bingo: "It was a shock when they announced how much I had won, but a very nice shock."
On the same day a 45-year-old man from Bury was also celebrating as he scooped £17,500 playing at a Mecca Bingo club and says he now intends to take his girlfriend away with him on holiday to celebrate.
For those who don't fancy going down to their local bingo hall as the cold winter months approach there is still the chance to get lucky playing online at Foxy Bingo, Gala Bingo or Champagne Bingo.
