A mobile bingo fan has claimed that she was "shocked" when she found out she had won a four-figure sum playing the numbers game.
Mecca Bingo's website has reported that a player dubbed D.P picked up £3,000 while playing bingo on her mobile handset.
The lucky lady explained to the website that the windfall will help her pay for a holiday and means that she will not have to use her credit card for the purchase.
Commenting on her win, D.P told Mecca Bingo: "When I won I was shocked - I've won smaller amounts but really didn't expect anything so significant."
Her triumph came after staking £1.50 on the game and it apparently resulted in her smiling all day long.
Mecca Bingo is not the only company to provide players with mobile bingo.
It appears to be an emerging market within the gambling industry, with Foxy Bingo also recently announcing plans to establish the numbers game on this platform.
