By Becky Turner on Thursday, 27 Jul 2006 A 22-year-old bingo player from Norwich has won £26,000 at her local Mecca Bingo.
Victoria Benabied went to the Mecca club with her friend, Odette Lami, who persuaded her to join, and won £25,000 on the National Bingo Game as well as a regional prize of £1,116.
The friends have always agreed to split any winnings so Odette is also looking to score some serious dough after Victoria's win.
Mrs Benabied said: "We always go halves. My friendship is worth more than that."
She added that she went into shock when she won the jackpot. "People were kissing me but I just sat there," she explained. "The nice thing is that the winning number was 69, which is my nan's favourite number."
She plans to buy a new car with her winnings, as well as take a holiday to Tunisia. She also maintains that she will continue to play bingo twice a week.
"We might win again and, anyway, we really enjoy going," she said.
