By Penny Walker on Monday, 1 Sep 2008 A bingo prize of £1 million has been shared between 169 lucky winners who were playing Britain's National Game.
Once split, the rollover jackpot, which had been built up throughout August, left the winners with an average of £6,300 each.
In the first Platinum game, which took place in the afternoon on August 31st, 39 players shared almost £270,000 between them. The evening game saw 130 punters split in excess of £800,000.
Steve Baldwin, National Bingo Game Association communications manager, commented: "We have created three bingo millionaires in the last eight months.
"Today the National Bingo Game has made a great many people very happy with substantial wins."
Earlier this year, a cleaner from Scotland broke the record for the biggest prize ever in bingo when she pocketed just shy of £1.2 million while playing at Club 3000 in Coatbridge.
Soraya Lowell had been a member at the venue for 16 months and a bingo regular for 20 years.
