Winning £20,000 at a local bingo club would have most people jumping for joy.
However, a 65-year old Edinburgh man had to keep calm after scooping the cash prize as has recently recovered from a heart operation.
The man, who preferred to remain anonymous, shared the National Bingo Game Prize of £100,000 with four other winners across the country after notching up a full house at his local Gala Club in just 45 minutes.
"I have had a triple heart by-pass and I have a spray to use for angina," he said.
"But I managed not to get too excited and I didn't have to use it."
However, his win was not simply a case of beginner's luck.
He started going to his local club in the Wester Hailes area of the city in 1996 with his mother and, since retiring from the prison service started playing morning and afternoon most days.
His mother sadly died in January, aged 93, though this did not diminish his enthusiasm for the game.
"It is a pity she was not here with me to share the excitement," he said, "particularly as she started me off playing, but perhaps somehow she made it happen for me!"
Luckily, the man's club was not one of the five that was forced to close in the months following the implementation of the smoking ban in Scotland.
