By Becky Turner on Monday, 2 Apr 2007 A 71-year-old cleaner from Bolton scooped a £101,224 jackpot while playing bingo at her local Mecca Bingo club.
The woman, who has four children and four grandchildren, won the National Game prize after completing a full house in 39 numbers, the Bolton News reports.
"I sat there shaking when I realised I had won and I shed a few tears," the lucky winner told the newspaper.
"My partner couldn't speak when I told him."
After splitting her winnings with her usual bingo partner, the woman said she was also planning to use her prize to treat her children.
In related news, a 19-year-old woman from Nantyglo Ebbll-Vale struck it lucky when she won £51,000 at her own bingo hall, the National Bingo Game reports.
The woman, who has a seven-month old son, said she was "gobsmacked" when it was announced that she had won the prize.
