By Becky Turner on Tuesday, 20 Mar 2007 A 41-year-old woman from Margate has described her shock at scooping a £51,000 jackpot while playing at her local bingo hall.
Having played the game since she was 18, the lucky winner said that she was unable to continue playing when it was announced she had won the cash at the Dreamland Club, the National Bingo Game reports.
"I was completely overwhelmed. Everyone was coming up and congratulating me," she remarked.
While her previous biggest win was £1,000, the woman said that she can now wake up in the morning and feel completely "stress-free" following her success playing bingo.
In related news, a 59-year-old woman from South Cerney is now planning a trip to visit her sister in Florida after winning £20,000 at the Gala Bingo Club in Swindon.
The winner, who plays twice a week, said she was "gobsmacked" to have taken home the cash prize.
