By Becky Turner on Wednesday, 21 Mar 2007 A 60-year-old woman from Hounslow is planning to take a trip to the Dominican Republic after scooping a large jackpot at her local bingo hall.
The woman, who took home £20,458 after winning the Afternoon Delight Game at the Gala Bingo club in Feltham, also said she would share the cash with two of her bingo-playing friends, the National Bingo Game reports.
Commenting after winning the jackpot, the woman said: "I froze to the spot when the announcement was made in the club.
"I was so shocked."
Aside from her holiday spending money, the lucky winner said that she also intended to use the cash to redecorate her home.
In related news, a special bingo event held at school in Driffield, Yorkshire, helped raise £700 for the First Steps Pre-school and Saint Catherine's Hospice, the Driffield Times reports.
The event, which had a toy theme, was organised by the local Rotary club.
