Yvonne Farquhar was at the Empire Club in the Scottish capital's Nicholson Street with her mother when she netted the winnings, which came to a grand total of £26,062, the National Bingo Game Association reports. She has been attending the Empire with her mum ever since it opened
The 44-year-old bed and breakfast manager was stunned when she was told that she had won. "It still hasn't really sunk in yet," she said. "After I was told I had won, I was so shocked that I needed to rush outside for a cigarette!"
What is truly astonishing is that her mother won £37,000 herself on the same game around ten years ago. Yvonne is now thinking about using the money to buy a holiday home.
"It's just so fantastic," she said. "We are a very lucky family!"
