By Becky Turner on Tuesday, 28 Nov 2006 An 84-year-old woman from Chesterfield won a £20,482 prize while playing bingo during a holiday to Blackpool.
Before winning the prize at the Mecca Bingo club on Talbot Road, the woman and her five friends had agreed to share their winnings, the National Bingo Game Association reports.
Commenting on scooping the Afternoon Delight jackpot, the woman said that they were all "very pleased" they had chosen to go to Blackpool.
"In fact, throughout the week we had already won a total of £600 between us, playing at the Mecca Club," she remarked.
"We couldn't believe it when we won again!"
Meanwhile, a 38-year-old mum from Nuneaton recently won a £103,000 bingo jackpot at a Gala Bingo club in Walsgrave, the Coventry Telegraph reveals.
The woman, who won the national game prize, says she plans to move into a new house and may even have the winning number tattooed on her arm.
