By Sarah Smithon Tuesday, 1 Aug 2006 Singer James Blunt has been voted one of the most annoying things in the UK.
The former Army officer had a smash hit with the single "You're Beautiful" but has now been named as even more irritating than traffic wardens in the survey commissioned by dairy drink Lactofree.
In fact, the only things that got under people's skin more than Mr Blunt were cold callers, caravans and queue jumpers.
The top ten was completed by traffic wardens, tailgaters, brown nosers, Chantelle and Preston, ex-smokers and noisy neighbours.
Other celebrities who rile the British public include Countdown letter-picker Carol Vorderman, publicity stunt artist David Blaine and cheesy singer Craig David.
Minor inconveniences such as paper cuts and novelty ringtones also featured prominently on the list of bothersome things.
"It's the little things that are beyond our control which annoy us the most, like novelty ring tones and noisy eaters," said a spokesman for Lactofree.
The study also found that a third of men believe they become more irritating as they grow older.
