Pop star Britney Spears has been voted the second most elegant woman in the world ahead of Kate Winslet and Catherine Zeta-Jones in a new poll.
Readers of Hello magazine chose Denmark's Princess Mary as top of the list with 58,000 votes, while the American singer received 54,000, despite recently being ranked highly in several 'worst dressed' lists for 2006, the Western Mail reports.
Describing Britney elegant qualities, Hello magazine said that the star has "never been a slave to fashion trends, opting instead to follow her own choices".
Having recently been spotted partying with heiress Paris Hilton, a spokesperson for Britney said that the pair are calling it a day because the mother-of-two now wishes to "focus on her family and career".
The magazine also asked for readers to choose the Most Attractive Man and Woman of 2006, with the honours going to Sean Bean and Angelina Jolie.
