By Sarah Smithon Wednesday, 19 Dec 2007 A Brummie has won big on the bingo this week, according to new reports.
The pensioner from Chelsmley Wood in Birmingham scooped a whopping £40,000 playing the National Bingo game.
On last Saturday evening the lucky lady who is 74-years-old went to play at BJ's Bingo Club on Mackadown Road in Kitts Green, which opened just four months ago.
Little did she know that Santa was about to bring her Christmas cheer early.
BJ's deputy manager, Nick Ralph, said that the club was delighted at her win.
He told the National Bingo: "She is a very regular player here and everyone cheered and clapped when we announced how much she had won. We had 800 people in and they nearly raised the roof!
"She is our first National Game success but having only been open a very short time, I am sure we are going to be a lucky club and she will be the first of many big winners."
