By Sarah Smithon Thursday, 31 Jan 2008 Players in Catford were cashing in this week as three bingo betters scooped £165,000 between them.
A 61-year-old grandmother won a whopping £37,000 at the Mecca Club in Plassy Road, becoming the third member of the club to win big in the space of ten days.
The lucky-lady, who wished to remain anonymous, has been playing bingo at least once a week for the past decade but says finally winning put her in a state of shock.
She told the National Bingo: "I won £2,000 at the club three or four years ago but I was overwhelmed this time to win such a large amount.
"I was shaking and I couldn't speak. It was just like coming off a white knuckle ride."
The lady achieved a full house last Saturday when she won the National Bingo Game prize of £34,070 plus the regional prize of £3,099 and the house prize of £95 to boot.
Lady luck first struck in Catford on Thursday January 17th when a 74-year-old woman from Maidstone walked off with £50,000 after reaching a full house in 41 calls.
