By Becky Turner on Friday, 8 Dec 2006 Despite only taking up bingo six months ago, a chef from west Suffolk is celebrating winning a £200,000 jackpot.
Yaowaluck Nakkong, 53, won the prize while playing at her local Winners Club in Bury St Edmonds, the East Anglian Daily Times reports.
Ms Nakkong, who has lived in the UK for the past six years and works at the Sangdao Thai Restaurant in Newmarket, told the newspaper she was "very happy" with her jackpot win.
Manager of the bingo hall, John Makerson, said: "Everyone clapped and cheered her - it raised the rafters.
"Play was stopped for a few minutes, it was phenomenal stuff."
The lucky winner is now planning to take a long holiday and pay off her mortgage after winning the National Game prize.
Last month, a woman from Sandhurst won a £181,342 jackpot while playing at the Point Bingo club in Bracknell, reports the National Bingo Game Association.
The 63-year-old decided to share her winnings with her daughter-in-law, who she was playing with on the day.
