By Becky Turner on Tuesday, 4 Sep 2007 Christmas has come more than three months early for one lucky bingo player, after she picked up an equal share in the £50,000 national bingo prize.
The 34-year-old from Southend won the cash at her local bingo hall, the Mecca Club in the Greyhound Shopping Centre in the town.
Now she says the £25,000 she scooped will come in handy in the run up to December 25th, so she can treat her family to an extra special festive season.
"I was very, very shocked to win," the player of two years told National Bingo Online.
"You never think that something like that will ever happen to you. In fact I phoned my friend the next day to check that I had won.
"We're going to have a very good Christmas this year," she added.
The winner, who has been married for 13 years, says she is now going to extend her house and treat her two children.
