By Sarah Smithon Friday, 23 Feb 2007 Coronation Street star Wendi Peters, who plays Cilla Battersby-Brown, is to open a brand new bingo hall in Preston.
The soap actress will be making a guest appearance at the opening of the £4.1 million Buckingham Bingo club, which has a 1,000 seat capacity, on Thursday March 8th, the Lancashire Evening Post reports.
Describing the new hall, Stuart Leek, general manager at the club, said: "Facilities, lighting, comfort, the staff - everything is just fantastic about it."
Tickets for the events being held on the club's opening night are expected to sell out very quickly, he added.
Visitors to the club will also have the chance to meet Bullseye host Jim Bowen on the following day during the first afternoon bingo session.
Meanwhile, Buckingham Bingo has also made an application to Manchester City Council to convert part of an existing bingo hall in Didsbury into a casino, the Manchester Evening News reports.
