Early delivery for Myleene

By Sarah Smithon Friday, 17 Aug 2007

Myleene Klass has given birth to a baby girl, three and a half weeks earlier than expected.

It was a quick turnaround for the busy former band member of pop group Hear'Say, who went into labour on Wednesday night, just after presenting The One Show on BBC One.

The 29-year-old classically trained pianist gave birth to baby Ava Quinn, with fiance Graham Quinn by her side.

Her little bundle of joy weighed in at 5lbs 9oz, and according to the musician's spokeswoman is "doing well".

"Myleene presented The One Show and felt a bit weird on the way home," her spokesperson explained.

"She went to the hospital to get checked out and they told her she was in labour. The birth went very smoothly and all is well, but her stint on the show is obviously over for now."

The BBC has reported that Myleene will be replaced by Christine Bleakly on The One Show while she takes some well-deserved maternity leave.

Myleene has proudly showed off her baby bump in the past few months with a recent high-profile cover shoot for magazine Glamour, as well as a catchy ad campaign for M&S clothing range with ex-60s model Twiggy.
