By Sarah Smithon Thursday, 13 Mar 2008 A Scottish electrician has stated his shock after winning £79,000 at the Gala Club in Falkirk last week.
The 58-year-old completed a full house in just 36 calls and so bagged the National Bingo Game prize of £76,340 plus the Regional prize of £3,051 and the house prize of £204.
"I couldn't believe it when I found out twenty minutes later how much I had won, as I was playing other games," he said in comments to NationalBingo.co.uk. "Everyone in the club was nice and happy for me and my wife cried when I told her."
Married with two children and four grandchildren, the Scot had been a member of the Gala club since it opened and had been a regular player.
Once over the surprise, he confirmed that he was going to splash out on a holiday and put the rest towards his retirement.
Back across the border, a pensioner from Hull has won the National Game prize for the third time, scooping more than £13,000.
