By Sarah Smithon Monday, 25 Jun 2007 A lucky bingo jackpot winner has revealed that she was almost overcome with embarrassment when she realised that she had won.
The unnamed woman had been playing at her local bingo hall in Coatbridge for over 20 years and had previously had some success.
However, when she heard her numbers come up at the Gala Club and realised that she had scooped £100,000 she went red with embarrassment.
"I was so embarrassed when I won as everybody was looking at me. I was more aware of that than the fact I had won," she said.
The lucky winner has two sons and two grandchildren and works as a cleaner when she isn't playing bingo games.
She revealed that she usually plays around two or three times a week and has previously had a winning streak but nothing on the scale of her latest success.
"Last year I was on a winning streak and seemed to win something at least every other week, including wins of £500 and £900. Everybody wanted to play with me," she laughed.
She says that she does not have any concrete plans for the money but will share it with her family in some way.
