Alan Kerr from Edinburgh has become something of a local celebrity after taking on a night job as a caller at his local bingo hall, reports the Edinburgh Evening News.
The 25-year-old has even won a top award for his bingo calling and has been put forward for the national finals, which will take place in London later this month.
Speaking to the newspaper, Mr Kerr said: "I really do believe I've got what it takes."
If he wins, Mr Kerr will scoop both a £500 cash prize and a trip for two to call bingo in Las Vegas.
He will be competing against talented bingo callers from all across the UK in his attempts to get his hands on the top prize.
