Gary Barlow and Mark Owen flew to Hollywood to attend a film premiere, with their group Take That tipped to be in line for an Oscar for their work on the soundtrack.
With fellow members Howard Donald and Jason Orange were away on holiday and so unable to make the screening of Matthew Vaughan's new film, Mark and Gary's partners were on hand to make up the numbers.
Mark arrived in LA with his fiancée, the actress Emma Ferguson, while Gary and his wife Dawn stopped by on their way to their holiday home in Nice, in the south of France.
Mark, who assumed lead vocal duties on the band's recent hit single Shine, told waiting reporters: "It's mad. A few years ago I didn't think I'd be in LA for a premiere.
"And an Oscar? Imagine. I've got my camera so I can get my picture taken with the stars."
At the same time, the Hollywood rumour mill has linked the former Take That member Robbie Williams, who has been living in LA for some years now, with the role of the young Captain Kirk in the next Star Trek movie.
