Factory worker wins £20k 'thanks to lucky charm'

A factory worker from Ipswich is celebrating after winning £20,000 at his local bingo hall.

The 53-year-old, from the Gainsborough estate has been a member of the Mecca Club in the town for the past 17 years, but this was his first big win.

And he believes a lucky charm he bought while on holiday in the Isle of Wight is the reason behind his change in fortunes.

Speaking to National Bingo, the man explained that he took the charm with him to the bingo club on the night of his win.

And the following day its magic paid off again - although this time the windfall wasn't so big.

"I also had it with me when I played bingo the following night and won another £20," he explained.

The husband and granddad says he has no immediate thoughts on how he will spend the money, but revealed he would be sharing it with his wife and mum.
