By Becky Turner on Tuesday, 21 Nov 2006 A factory foreman from Heywood, Bury, won more than £6.7 million on the Euromillions Lottery while playing dominoes in his local pub.
Dean Hardman, 32, was one of 20 winners across Europe who scooped a share of the £123 million jackpot on Friday, This Is Lancashire reports.
Commenting on his win, Dean, who lives with his partner Stella Kelsall, 36, said that the numbers "just kept coming" and that he was shouting at the TV while he waited for the last number to be announced.
"I couldn't believe it when it came up. Stella took the ticket to check on the internet and I just finished my pint," he explained.
Dean now plans to buy a racehorse in memory of his grandfather, who he said was a racing enthusiast and to travel over to watch England play in the Ashes in Australia, the Manchester Evening News reports.
