If you have a few quid to spare, you might want to bid for the red Ferrari Enzo currently being auctioned on eBay.

So far the sports car has attracted a bid of £345,600, although the reserve price has not yet been met.

However, if it does sell the Ferrari will become the most expensive item ever sold on eBay.co.uk. The current record is held by a handbag owned by Lady Thatcher, which sold for £103,000 six years ago.

The 12-cylinder car was built using Formula One technology and is named after the founder of the company, Enzo Ferrari. Only 400 models were produced.

"This sale shows that eBay has become the place to buy and sell more or less anything," said Jody Ford, head of eBaymotors.co.uk.

"From everyday items sold at fixes prices to collectables such as this Ferrari that are sold in the auction-style format, the site attracts buyers and sellers for almost every conceivable object."

Another Ferrari Enzo sold for £540,000 on eBay's Swiss website two years ago. The current auction will end on September 21st.
